RTD Fruit Tea Manufacturing: What Brands Need to Know About MOQ and Lead Times
MOQ, lead times and private-label packaging for RTD fruit tea: what brands should confirm before a production run.

Ready-to-drink fruit tea has moved from specialty cafes into convenience stores, hotel minibars and supermarket chillers, and with that move the manufacturing questions have changed. Brands no longer ask only whether the recipe tastes good. They ask what the minimum order is, how long a production run takes, and how much of the packaging work the factory can carry. This guide answers those questions for RTD fruit tea as we run it at Yuanjin Tea: the entry point, the calendar, and how to de-risk a first order.
What Makes RTD Fruit Tea a Different Manufacturing Job
Brewing leaf tea and manufacturing a bottled fruit tea are two different disciplines. A bottled fruit tea carries more variables than a pouch of leaf: fruit preparation, tea base extraction, sweetness and acidity balance, filling and sealing, and shelf stability. Each variable is a place where an improvised line drifts and a disciplined one holds. Our group structure reflects the difference. Alongside its two tea factories, Yuanjin Industry Group operates Xiaochaxian, a beverage supply chain business, and Yuanchun, a coffee factory, so beverage manufacturing sits inside the group's core work rather than at its edge.
The tea base is not an afterthought either. Our catalog includes nine developed fruit and tea application recipes, pairing fig, peach, pomelo, lemon, lychee, mango, passionfruit and other fruits with bases such as Yinhua Xiang, Floral Ceylon and Bailan green. When a brand arrives with a fruit concept, the tea side of the equation is already engineered rather than improvised.
MOQ: 100 Cartons to Start
For RTD fruit teas, our minimum order starts at 100 cartons, packed at six 1.5-liter bottles per carton, which is 600 bottles. That number is deliberate. It is low enough for a regional launch test, a foodservice pilot or a private label trial without committing a full container, and high enough for a production run to hold quality parameters steady from the first bottle to the last.
Two boundaries matter when you read any supplier's MOQ. First, an MOQ is format-specific: 100 cartons applies to our RTD fruit teas, while tea bags, loose leaf and powder formats are confirmed per project. Second, an MOQ is not a price quote. Unit economics improve with volume, and we confirm the exact structure through inquiry once we know your formula, packaging and destination market.
Lead Times: What Actually Drives the Calendar
We could print a lead time, and it would be wrong for most projects, because real lead times are driven by five variables: whether the formula is final or in revision; whether packaging design is approved or still in artwork; whether materials for your bottle, cap and label are in stock or on order; where your production slot sits in the schedule; and which shipping route your destination market requires. We confirm a project schedule in writing through inquiry, against those variables, rather than quoting a number we cannot stand behind.
What we can say in advance is what shortens the calendar. Buyers who arrive with a finalized recipe benchmark, a packaging decision ready to make, and a clear destination market move faster than buyers who revise the brief mid-project. Our standing inventory of more than 1,000 tons of tea materials across more than 100 item types removes one of the longest waits in beverage manufacturing: the raw material itself.
Private Label Packaging on the Same Program
RTD fruit tea under your own brand is the default, not an exception. Our OEM program includes professional packaging design support, so label, bottle presentation and carton design are developed by the same team that runs production, and custom packaging sits inside the standard OEM scope. Our Daily Good Tea line works as a reference structure if you want to see how a finished private label presentation comes together.
Qualifications travel with the product. The factory operates an ISO 22000:2018 food safety management system certified by CQC, holds China export food producer registration, and operates as an FDA-registered facility. That document set keeps customs clearance and retail onboarding in your destination market moving instead of stalling on paperwork.
A Trial Order Strategy That Actually De-Risks
Use the 100-carton entry point the way chains use a test store. Pick one or two flavors rather than a full range; the nine application recipes exist precisely to shortcut that choice. Define success before the goods land: target sell-through by week, repeat order intent from foodservice accounts, feedback from a tasting panel. Then scale the winner and retire the rest, instead of defending a full-range bet.
Small trial, defined metrics, focused scale-up: that sequence is how beverage programs stay solvent. It is also why we hold the MOQ where it is. Your first order should be a question you can afford to answer honestly.
